| Review: | People beware Access America is a cynical fraud I purchased three airline tickets, including one for my mother, back in March for a flight in September and paid for travel insurance from Access America offered through Orbitz. I wish I hadn't. It would save me money, time, and headache. Apparently, AA doesn't recognise death proved by the death certificate as a ligitimate excuse to cancel your flight. AA sent a three-page questionary to my mom. I called, explained she's dead and there's no way the stupid paperwork can be filled out. Well, two month later my mom receives another letter from AA. They write, Dear, my mom's name, since we have not received the supporting information to your claim. Your claim has been closed. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.... Well, that would be difficult to do for a person whose body was cremated three month ago. I feel like Access America pooped on my front porch and then knocked at the door to ask for toilet paper. Access America is cynical fraud! People beware, don't give your money to crooks. Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | i thought they were great i purchased insurance and had to cancel my trip due to a pre-existing condition. however, i read my policy when purchased and was aware that was not covered, i did call to double check and the young man i spoke with was very polite and knowledgeable. it appears that a lot people do not read their policies. i also took advantage of reading the policy online when i purchased from the airline. they do say limitations apply. as far as im aware there has been no reason to accuse of fraud. i also checked the BBB website, nothing bad on there. if they are such a bad company why no reports on BBB?? i have reported a complaint about another business and it was valid and BBB posted it. so it would appear no complaints are valid on the BBB website which should tell people something. maybe the problem is not with Access America but people who assume or do not read their policies. just because YOU want a claim paid does not mean it should be. i saw so much negative and wanted to put my good experience in. we are also only able to hear one side of the story on here which i dont really like. you have no way of knowing what is really going on or what really happened. | Review: | buyer beware! I recently purchased a trip to Paris, France for my birthday, and bought trip insurance through Access America. My brother sent me an email three days later telling me that my mom's health was in serious trouble...the following week, she was diagnosed with metastatic pancreatic cancer. I cancelled the trip and went home to look after her, as I only had one week's vacation time, and money for one trip...I ended up also taking a leave of absence from work. My claim was denied...they said my mother had a pre existing condition. I didn't know my mom was sick, she didn't know she was terminally ill until after this trip was booked. My mom died peacefully the beginning of August with all of her children at her bedside. Access America unjustly and unfairly denied my claim. Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | Access America is Fraud We purchased this "insurance" through JetBlue last May when we bought tickets to travel to Washington D.C. for August. In early July, my wife suddenly started having headaches and a CT scan found a mass. To make a long story short, she had an emergency craniotomy and a diagnosis of brain cancer. Of all the things to deal with I went about cancelling the trip. Since we had the insurance I figured it would be no problem. I filed the claim and received some forms back. I filled them out includinga letter from her doctors and the hospital explaining the situation. Bottom line is that the claim simply keeps getting rejected for lacking some small piece of information (how much do they seriously need to know?). Now they say that we need to PROVE that a craniotomy to remove a malignant brain tumor was an "emergency" and not a planned operation. Seriously? This company's M.O. is to simply deny, deny, deny until the suckers give up and go away. To their credit, JetBlue reimbursed us directly for the cost of the tickets when I contacted them to complain about the treatment their partner gave us. I simply gave up trying to get anything from Access America. Save your money, these guys are useless. Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | access america rocks!!!! i have been reading a lot of reviews of this co. so many people post bad stuff nowadays. when you read these reviews, people are mad b/c they DID NOT READ THEIR POLICY, ASSUMED EVERYTHING WOULD BE COVERED, THEN COMPLAINS WHEN THEY DO NOT GET PAYMENT!! and you only here their side of the story. alot of the policies are only 13ish dollars, b/c due to emergencies, etc. when a change fee is $ 150+ what do you think you can cancel for a $13 policy, for any reason, no!! dont be delusioninal. my claim was paid, no problem. and the service was wonderful, everyone i spoke with a delight and i will recommend them to everyone i know.
